Queers in Property NSW (QIP NSW) has announced their Sydney events program to coincide with the 2025 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras (MG 2025).
February 4th, 2025
QIP NSW’s first event is set to be a stellar panel discussion on ‘The Queer Wish List,’ revealing things we would all seek to improve in the built environment sector. Pablo Albani (Director, Studio P3) will join Mark Ojascastro (Principal, Plus Architecture), Diana Espiritu (Associate, 3XN Architects) and Cecil Huang (LGBTQ+ Business Resource Group Lead, APAC & MEA, MillerKnoll) for a discussion moderated by Bradford Gorman from Grimshaw.
Get ready for a meaningful exploration of the experiences, challenges and aspirations of LGBTQIA+ professionals within the field – and, through the discussion, ways we can all inspire and facilitate change to make the sector more inclusive and supportive. This discussion aims to be positive, inspirational and hopeful, in the spirit of the MG 2025 theme of ‘Free to Be.’
This event has received the generous support of MillerKnoll and will take place at the terrific Sydney showroom of Living Edge, The Woolstores Shed 74, 4D Huntley Street, Alexandria on Wednesday 12 February 2025. Admission is free – get your tickets here!
And that’s not all! With the additional support of MillerKnoll and Living Edge, QIP is delighted to announce the silent auction of the iconic Aeron Chair on the evening! Place your bids here for this exceptional opportunity to own one of the most ergonomic workplace chairs ever designed, and support the Queers In Property mission of advancing and connecting LGBTQIA+ property and design professionals.
The energy continues at the second QIP NSW event, their very own house party: QHouse x Yirranma Place, Darlinghurst! This will be a celebration of discovery and fun, history, culture and, above all, a sound track for the MG 2025 season. On the night, there will be DJs and a surprise performance paired with architectural tours of the building by its adaptive reuse architects SJB – surely enough motivation to drag yourself off the dance floor. The ‘behind-the-scenes’ tour of will explore this remarkable heritage building, originally designed by Samuel George Thorp and transformed by SJB into a community precinct for social purpose.
Come and celebrate all things queer as QIP partner with Two Good Co and CBRE Asia Pacific to activate Yirranma Place and provide a sneak peek of Shelter NSW’s research on LGBTQIA+ community housing. The chance to discover the multifaceted Yirranma Place is an exciting twist for the very first EORA/SYDNEY QHouse event of 2025 during Mardi Gras – Thursday 20th February from 5.30pm to 9pm at 262 Liverpool Street, Darlinghurst.
Tickets available here.
