Step into the wonderful world of shibori where this ancient art form is developed for contemporary interior design projects through digital print.

All patterns are created by hand in the studio of Pepa Martin and Karen Davis, and then developed for digital printing onto high-performance, commercial fabric and wall covering substrates at Materialised’s print facility in Sydney. Think beautiful sheers, acoustic drapery, Australian made waterproof upholstery fabric and vinyl wall covering. All meeting Australian and New Zealand flame retardancy requirements and suitable for commercial use.

The inaugural collaboration, the Place of Zen, is a poetic collection of nine designs and one mural invoking creativity, nature’s architecture and sculptural form, whilst Archive 01 is the first release from Shibori’s original library of designs. Cityscape Day, CityScape Night, Entomology, Lucy Diamond, Shibori Stripe and Star all convey the beauty of a handmade piece of art.

Mineralism is our second Shibori collaboration, bursting with colour! This collection showcases the wonders of Australasian minerals and the diversity of their creation. Moving beyond traditional indigo, inspiration came from the stunning jewel tones found in Australasian minerals and gemstones.

All are available online for sampling, as well as in Materialised Design Studios throughout Australia and New Zealand (by appointment only.)
