Vida Glow has teamed up with Arent&Pyke to create its stunning new home base. A destination that, thanks to supple elements like Tappeti bespoke rugs, feels both luxurious and grounded.

At ingestible beauty brand Vida Glow’s headquarters in North Sydney, the experience of entering the space – just like the products the company creates – is as much about feeling good as it is looking good.
To be sure, the bespoke office design appears plush and polished, with natural tones meeting pops of colour in sky blue, gold, ink and plum. But when the Vida Glow team set out to design this environment – which coincided with the brand’s relaunch into a new era of growth, it was clear to designers Arent&Pyke that the experience of using it had to be comfortable, nurturing, restorative, even.
The space had to look and feel luxurious, while also speaking to the nature of the product – its mineral connection to the earth.
Stone became an obvious choice of material, but to soften and warm its strong lines and cool, hard tangibility, the Arent&Pyke team had to think outside the box for ways not to contrast (friction has no place here) but complement.
Surrounding a mammoth jade-green marble bar where the products can be sampled, wood, wicker and dramatic plant life tie together the area’s essential ‘earthenness’.
For flooring, to add support and suppleness to the grey stone with geometric inlays and blonde wooden boards, Arent&Pyke turned to Sydney-founded Tappeti, the brainchild of textile expert Karinna Gobbo.
According to Arent&Pyke co-founder Sarah-Jane Pyke, the team knew that with its finely attuned attention to tactility, Tappeti would be able to provide the material balance that was needed.
“We established a really strong concept for Vida Glow HQ, and colour, materiality and texture were all key elements. We knew we could rely on Tappeti for an extensive range of colours, in beautiful New Zealand wool blend and art-silk, as well as their capacity to execute our custom designs to achieve our vision,” Pyke says.
The bespoke designs were executed following a careful brief from Arent&Pyke, and customised to suit the needs of Vida Glow HQ’s breakout spaces, CEO office and waiting area.
This included modifying Tappeti’s Linea Luxe design in custom shapes and sizes, delivering the product in a series of different jewel tones to bring depth, and grounding the spaces that are heavily used by staff for collaborative ideation.
And Tappeti’s Plantation rug was identified and modified with custom border detail and a bespoke shape for the waiting area, greeting visitors and making a strong impression in sand and slate shading.
For Arent&Pyke, the lush flooring provides a literal base from which the design is able to grow forth.
“As designers, being able to imagine a rug and see it come to life is always very satisfying. Tappeti provided sampling and colour references, so we were able to fine tune the designs to perfectly ground the schemes for each breakout area,” Pyke says.
She feels the finished products offer the detail that was needed to communicate the inner-beauty brand’s attention to the process of fine attunement.
“The irregular shapes and subtle texture from the pattern cut into the pile of the rugs really elevate the spaces, helping to position the brand as exciting, design focused and innovative.”
